Stand Taller Live Longer

Posted on 2010-08-24 19:32:37

I had the opportunity to attend an amazing continuing education conference on the importance of having strong posture and how this relates to aging well.  Dr. Steven Weiniger, author of "Stand Taller Live Longer" presented a protocol based on 3 main elements: balance, alignment and motion.  Through a series of posture exercises you can create the strong posture your body was designed to have.  This will help you to move better and and age better. The key to aging well is to keep moving and to keep moving you must have strong posture!  Please join us as we work to promote strong posture!  We are excited to empower or our patients to take an active role in their health care.  For more information please call 517-699-2646.

Why Do Children Need Chiropractic Care?

Posted on 2010-05-10 19:33:03

People ask me this question a lot and I LOVE to explain it!  This question gets right to the heart of what chiropractic care really is.  Chiropractic care corrects spinal misalignments- plain and simple.  Research shows that the first spinal misalignment can actually happen during the birth process!  The birth process is not always gentle; in fact it rarely is.  In order to assist the baby, doctors often pull and twist on the baby's head  in order to get them out... even worse, at times forceps and vacuum devices are used.  All of this force directed on the baby's fragile spine can easily cause a spinal misalignment.  If left uncorrected, the baby might not grow and develop properly. I believe that the absolute best time to have a child checked for spinal misaligment is right after birth, however it is never too late to have your child checked.  Chiropractic care continues to help children as they grow and develop.  Adjustments can be helpful as a child is learning to walk, afer falling, after rough play and for children that play sports of any kind.  I have seen chiropractic help children with colic, ear infections, ADD/ADHD, autism and more!  It is important to find a chiropractor that is trained to worked with children.  An excellent resource on how chiropractic can help children is the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association.  If you would like to discuss chiropractic care for your child, please call me at 517-699-2646 or ask me about it at your next appointment.
